PNNL/UW Joint Institute for NanoscienceInstitute for Nanoscience Steering Committee and Co-DirectorsThe Steering Committee for the Joint Institute for Nanoscience consists of ten (10) members with the first-named undersigned signatories, or their designees, having the power to appoint on behalf of the University and Battelle, respectively, one-half of the membership. The term of office of a Steering Committee member shall be three (3) years and an appointing party may, at its sole discretion, remove or replace a member of the Steering Committee appointed by that party at any time or fill any vacancy in any position for which it has the right to make an appointment. Until otherwise changed by agreement of the parties, the parties shall each designate one person to serve as Co-Directors of the Joint Institute for Nanoscience. Both Co-Directors shall be members of the Steering Committee and alternate for terms of one (1) year in presiding over Steering Committee meetings. In the absence of the presiding officer, the other Co-Director shall preside over Steering Committee Meetings. The initial presiding officer shall be Battelle's appointee.
